BESSIE M. SAMSON was born and raised in the Paradise Hills area of Southeast San Diego.  She attended UC Davis, earning her Bachelor of Arts in 2013 in Political Science, and a minor in Philosophy.  Bessie then went on to attend Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, obtaining her JD in 2018.  During law school, Bessie was a certified law clerk and clinical student for Loyola Immigrant Justice Clinic, advocating for victims of domestic violence and other crimes to obtain immigration relief in the United States.  While taking an experiential immigration course in law school, Bessie, along with her classmate, won her first immigration proceeding in the El Paso Immigration Court.  Bessie is admitted to the California State Bar and is also licensed to practice in Immigration Court.

Bessie is a proud Filipino-American and is a board member for Pag-asa Law Clinic, a non-profit organization that provides low cost legal services to the Fil-Am community in National City and surrounding areas. 

During her spare time, Bessie enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with her loved ones.
