MADISON GOTTFREDSON attended the University of Portland and earned a bachelor’s degree in History with minor in Spanish and Social Justice. She then attended the University of San Diego School of Law, where she earned a Juris Doctorate. Inspired by her studies and civil rights volunteer work, Madison was involved in many law school extracurricular activities. As a member of USD’s National Trial Team, she took first place in the America’s Finest City Mock Trial Competition hosted by the San Diego Defense Lawyers and Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. She also was the chair of a student organization focused on ethnic and racial equality in which she moderated large civil rights group discussions within the community pertaining to the relationship between the law and relevant racial and social justice issues.

Madison held internships at the Office of U.S. Attorney’s, Office for the Southern District of California, and the Office of the Public Defender, San Diego. While working in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, she had the opportunity to work directly under the Chief of the Civil Division expanding her knowledge on litigation strategy and trial preparation within the federal court system.

When not working, Madison enjoys watching sports, golfing, music, beach days, and spending time with family and friends.
